Year End Letter from our CEO

proteanTecs top 5 highlights from 2020

Thanks for another year together! We know that 2020 hasn’t been exactly how we all had expected it to be. We at proteanTecs have done everything in our power to continue our mission to help our customers grow their business even during this difficult period.

Back in March, we remained agile.

This meant shifting resources to remote work in order to continue serving our clients while pushing forward Universal Chip Telemetry to scale advanced electronics.

Although the pandemic has created short-term industry disruption for advanced electronics, it offers promising long-term opportunities. Product demand is shifting across segments, putting ever-increasing emphasis on cloud services and ‘smart-everything’.

Our Top 5 Achievements in 2020

Forward looking trends, like remote monitoring, digitalization, and automation, have proven to be indispensable. It became clear to both traditional and data-driven industries that predictive monitoring and deep visibility reduce redundancy, allow lean processes and open a gateway for valuable collaboration.

With that, I am proud to share that 2020 marked several significant milestones for proteanTecs. This is in thanks to the rapidly growing market traction from our flagship product, Proteus™.

Here are our top 5 highlights from this year:

  1. This year brought with it commercial success by serving new clients including Fortune 100 companies, hyperscalers, OEMs and disruptive startups around the globe. UCT is now embedded and silicon-proven in large advanced devices, including processors, switches, digital logic, complex packaging, and more.
  2. We’ve entered new verticals such as automotive, with the appointment of a GM Automotive and a team of experts. Working closely with OEMs and Tier 1’s, we’re set to raise the bar on safety, reliability and robustness of ADAS and ECUs.
  3. Back in October, we opened a new office in Taiwan. This team joins our offices in California, New Jersey, Germany, and Israel to help better serve our clients in the region while opening doors to new commercial opportunities.
  4. Ongoing market education efforts have allowed us to raise awareness on the need for a new approach to electronics visibility.  This has earned us a reputation for spearheading a ground-breaking category, even seeing proteanTecs be named as an EETimes Silicon 100: Top Startups of 2020.
  5. In August 2020, we also announced the closing of our Growth Equity Financing round of $45M, led by Koch Disruptive Technologies (KDT), rounding out the total investment in the company to nearly $100M.

Looking to the Future

While the Coronavirus sent the world into shock, we were able to remain focused. This determination helped us to penetrate new markets, boost technology adoption, increase brand recognition, and conduct valuable fundraising activities.

As 2020 comes to a close, I have reason to be optimistic that we are heading towards calmer seas as a global community in 2021.

While I reflect on the things I am most grateful for, such as new partnerships, our talented team, and countless opportunities, I stand assured of our journey. With determination, engineering creativity, and perseverance, there is no mountain too high.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you, our partners, for the support and dedication you, our community, has shown us. May this season of endings and new beginnings shine a light on great things ahead.
